EggZen is a small, family-run business founded in 2022.

It began in the quiet village of Ballasalla, on the southern side of the Isle of Man, before relocating in 2023 to Douglas, the island’s capital. This move to a more central location allowed EggZen to better serve horse owners and farmers across the island.

The business was founded by Tahnee Carpenter, who previously ran a similar worm counting and parasite management service in South Africa, after completing her BSc Agric. Animal Science at the University of Pretoria. After moving to the Isle of Man, she quickly became familiar with the unique challenges of island life—particularly how the weather often dictates whether anything can arrive or leave the island. Recognizing the need for a more local and dependable solution, she saw an opportunity to offer a personalized, friendly service that delivers reliable results—without the risk of samples degrading during transport off-island.
